The challenge
A multi-commodity mining group operated diamond, platinum, coal and iron ore assets with maintenance practice that had evolved independently at every operation. Comparable equipment carried different tactics, spares holdings were inconsistent, and group engineering had no common basis for judging performance.

The challenge
A data centre operator required a rigorous service scope for critical door and access infrastructure, where a failure has security, compliance and availability consequences simultaneously and vendor scopes had been loosely defined.

The challenge
A processing expansion was approaching handover with the maintenance organisation largely unprepared: the asset register was incomplete, spares had not been provisioned against failure modes, and no maintenance tactics existed for the new equipment.
