The challenge

Procurement savings are frequently reliability costs in disguise.

A component bought on price against a loose specification often costs several times its saving in the first failure it causes. The gap usually opens between engineering and buying: the specification is thin, the substitution is approved by someone without visibility of the duty, and nobody closes the loop when the replacement behaves differently in service.

Aurixs manages procurement as an engineering activity. We specify against the duty and the failure modes, evaluate vendors technically as well as commercially, and — where clients prefer a single accountable party — take the whole scope through to commissioned handover.

It depends on the scope. On advisory work we are independent of the vendors and paid for the engineering judgement. On turnkey scopes we carry delivery accountability. We are explicit about which role we are in, and we do not blend them on the same package.
Yes. In most engagements we provide the technical layer — specification, evaluation, inspection — while your procurement function runs the commercial process and contracts.
They are identified during specification and tracked separately from the outset, because they usually govern the schedule. On readiness projects this is one of the earliest workstreams.
Yes. Reducing variant count across a fleet is one of the more reliable ways to cut spares holding and improve artisan familiarity — we assess interchangeability as part of the work.
